Photography and Journalism

 Program Description

Fun Nepal will provide you with the opportunity to work in print media in Nepal, as an exchange journalist. The newspaper you will be writing for is Tourism Times, with a focus on promoting tourism. You will be involved in general administration of the newspaper as well as the opportunity to contribute to destination reports around Nepal. Included in this program is the chance to photograph Nepal\'s stunning natural beauty.

Your experience in journalism in your home country is very valuable for you to share your ideas and knowledge with the local Nepali journalist team. We can provide you with information to help you understand how media and communications work in Nepal.

Requirements - Qualification and experience in journalism and photography.

Program Dates - Are very flexible, the minimum time for the program is 2 weeks and the maximum length of stay is 5 months.

Suggestions - volunteers need to bring camera for photography.

Accommodations - A simple room with a bed. We advise you to bring a sleeping bag and mosquito net with you or you can always buy here which is 2-3 times cheaper than back home.

Meals - Breakfast occurs at 6:30am and consists of a cup of tea and biscuits. Lunch is served at 9:00am to 9:30am and is usually dal/bhat (rice, lentils and vegetables). Dinner is at 6:30pm to 7:00pm and is also dal/bhat. The food is very simple but also extremely tasty and filling. Additional food such as biscuits can be bought at the local shop if you should still be hungry.
